PAINTING (SHELVES)

The artwork series PAINTING OBJECT (Shelves) critically examines how everyday domestic forms are translated into object-based abstraction. By reconfiguring the utilitarian shelf into enamel paint on aluminum structure, the work interrogates the boundary between painting, sculpture, and design, positioning surface, edge, and support as active sites of meaning rather than neutral substrates. Industrial materiality and fabrication resist expressive gesture, aligning the work with traditions of reductive and non-objective practice while grounding it in the visual language of everyday life. The work operates by challenging inherited hierarchies between fine art and functional objects, demonstrating how minimal means can generate critical reflection on perception, domesticity, and the cultural framing of painting.
